Few states house more talent than New York. Both Albertson U18 & U16 finished in 2nd behind the Red Bulls last season. While the NY Red Bulls collect most of the headlines, fellow NY club Albertson SC has had just as much success.
Few players mean more to their club than 2014 UConn commit and ’95 usynt Dylan Greenberg. Greenberg is a classy defender who might see time in the center of the park in 2013-2014 as the team loses Miguel Polley and Nico Gaitan both US youth internationals.
Greenberg will be joined by returning Albertson stars Jeongho Ho Ahn who scored 16 times last season, and Christian Martinez. Midfielder stalwart Franky Martinez also returns and will be asked to boss the midfield.
A number of U16s join the U18s this season including leading U16 scorer Arthur Bosua. The South African Bosua is a Columbia commit and stands at 6’2” and has skill for days. He and Ho Ahn should form a dangerous strike duo.
The real strength of Albertson will likely be the defense. Greenberg will be joined by U16 core players Daniel Bank, Christian Moyse and Luka Martinovic who’s play should warrant looks for US youth national camps.
The U16s should once again compete for the NY Red Bulls for the Northeast division crown lead by a trio of ’97s. ’97 usynt striker Stephen Elias is the leading returner on the squad. Elias spent time playing with his high school side Iona Prep last season. Conrad Nowowiejski (’97) returns to the midfield. Nowowiejski started in 20 matches last season and tallied 4 times. David Manzanares (’97) will lead the backline. Defender Kyle Preno (’98) is another name to watch on this squad.
On the U13/14 squad look for Eder Mosquera (’01) to be one of the stars. He and Salvatore Rasizzi (’01) will be playing two years up with the ’99s and should be one’s to watch.
