Early DA Headlines

We’re only a few games in to the 16-17 DA season, yet there are already some players turning heads:

Dante Sealy – F – FC Dallas U14 – 2003

FC Dallas looks to have another one of the top young attackers in ’03 Dante Sealy. The wide player has been playing up with the ’02s for the last year and already has 9 goals in 3 matches for the Dallas club. Sealy is shines next to some of the top talent in the nation. Bright future ahead for the future US Youth International.

Charly Anguiano – M – Los Angeles Galaxy U18 – 2000

Anguiano, who has been left out of most recent US U17 camps, has been stellar for the loaded Galaxy U18s thus far. Anguiano, a long time Kleiban protegee, works at the #6 pivot for the Galaxy playing against some of the top 98s-99s on the west coast. The US U17 midfield is deep but Anguiano is surely on the top generals in the pool.

Matiwos Ramley – M – Oakwood SC U14 – 2005

In 2014 a friend to OWTY clued me in that a 2005 was playing THREE years up with the 2002s at Oakwood. Ramley, an Ethopian orphan, has settled in nicely with the Oakwood U14s starting each match. Ramley who has excellent size, is considered one of the best pure players in the region at the U14 level. Ramley just recently turned 11! Ramley would be an ideal candidate for the id2 program moving forward. Watch this space.

Lalo Blancas – M – Real Salt Lake U16 – 2001

Blancas was one of the most heavily recruited non-DA affilated players over the summer. He chose to join up with RSL from Napa SC. Despite playing outside the DA Blancas was well involved with the US Youth teams. He’s started this season as one of the most dangerous players in the U16 division forming a dynamic partnership with fellow ’01 Luis Arriaga. Blancas has 3 goals in 4 matches.

Joseph Scally – D – NYCFC U16 – 2002

Scally has been a staple with the talented 02s in the NYCFC however, he and fellow USYNT forward Gio Reyna play for the U16s. Scally’s already started all NYCFC matches and looks to be a leader despite playing 2 years up.

Victor Cano & Marcos Ceja – F – Los Angeles Galaxy U14 – 2002

The Galaxy’s newest recruits have combined for 15 of the 24 goals the U14s have scored this season. The pair have all the makings of becoming the next in line at the talent-wealthy Galaxy organization.

Jordan Saint-Louis –  F – Bethesda SC U18 – 1999

Saint-Louis returns to his formed Bethesda club after stints with DC United and Baltimore Bays. Saint-Louis who’s already netted once, is the focal paint for the U18s who could become one of the best sides on the East Coast.

Jose Carranza – M – DC United U18 – 1999

Carranza makes this list as it seems like his days as in the DA are numbered. The stand-out midfielder looks poised for a professional deal abroad. Carranza is one of the brightest attacking midfielder prospects in the pool.

Isaiah Reid – D – Charlotte Soccer Academy U16 – 2001

Ried warrants a spot on this list following his position change from striker to left back. Sources tell OWTY that Reid excelled from the left back spot in a recent Adidas Select trip to Holland. Reid was a terror getting up and down the flank creating multiple chances. His position change will surely land him on the US U16 radar.

Jose Alfaro & Edson Murguia – M – Chicago Fire  U18 – 1999s

The Chicago-based Alfaro and Murguia return to partner for the Fire after successful spells at Mexican sides Morelia and Leon respectively. The pair have been excellent leading the Fire U18s to a 2-0-1 record thus far. Alfaro is as versatile as it gets. He can play as a wingback, midfielder or as a target striker. Murguia pulls the strings for the Fire along with David Portugal and Alan Salmeron, who has not featured yet this season.

David Ochoa – G – Real Salt Lake U16 – 2001

Former Chivas de Guadelajara goalkeeper has been a standout for the RSL U16s in net. Winners of 4 including 2 shut-outs has placed Ochoa firmly back in the US pool.
